If you are planning or helping to plan a wedding and love the idea of getting involved and having a go at doing some or all of the flower arrangements for the big day, then this workshop will give you the skills and understanding you need. We love to share our knowledge and love of flowers with others and encourage them to have the confidence to give things a go.

 

We will start by  getting to know each other over a cup of tea and finding out about what you want to learn and produce. Then Catherine will introduce the tools, materials and resources that will be useful and we can discuss what flowers will be available and suitable for different seasons and arrangements.

 

Armed with your knowledge and the excitement to choose your ingredients, we will then have a wander around the beautiful flower beds and you will pick your own flowers to use in the arrangements. Once you have a bucket full we will show you how to arrange a hand tied spiral bouquet and how to add the finishing touches.

 

We will then look at floral decorations for other members of the wedding party, including button holes, corsages and headpieces.  You will then get to have a go at making one of your choice.

 

A delicious lunch will then be provided, during which we will chat about tip on timing and planning and how to care for and look after the flowers so they look their best on the big day.

 

In the afternoon we will talk about various places flowers can decorate ceremony and reception venues. Then we will demonstrate and support you to develop table centres of various types, including eco-friendly versions.

 

The cost of the full day workshop (from 10am to 3 pm) is £120 per person .  This includes morning and afternoon  refreshments and tools and materials used, and is an intensive but very creative and rewarding day. We will have a BYO picnic lunch in the field. 

 

Classes are for a maximum of 6 people to ensure you get personal tuition. You will also get to take home all the items that you make – this will include your bouquets in a vase.

 

Bespoke bridal party workshops are available and would be ideal as a fun and creative hen party. Bubbles can be included in the packages and the agenda adapted to suit your needs if it is a bespoke course. Arranging your own wedding flowers could be a perfect way to bring a unique and personal touch to your special day.
